Wire Sawing

Wire saws can be used to cut through concrete walls, floors, slabs, and other thick materials. They are often used in demolition projects or to make openings for doors, windows, or vents. Wire saws can also be used to cut pipes, rebar, and other metal objects embedded in concrete and any other structure of any grade can be possible with this Diamond wire saw fixed with a 3500-watt machine.

Wire sawing is capable of achieving complex cutting tasks that other methods cannot accommodate.  The cutting procedure does not damage the structural integrity of the adjacent stones and mortar.

Wire Sawing cuts wall/beam/column/slab or any other structure of any grade can be possible with this Diamond wire saw fixed with a 3500-watt machine.

There are many benefits to using a concrete wire saw, including:

  • Increased accuracy: A concrete wire saw allows you to make very precise cuts in concrete and other materials. This is because the diamond-coated wire is much thinner than traditional power saw blades.

  • Better safety: Using a concrete wire saw is much safer than using a traditional power saw. This is because there is no kickback or blade bind when cutting with a wire saw.

  • Improved efficiency: A concrete wire saw can cut through material much faster than a traditional power saw. This is because the wire can slice through the material rather than just tear it apart.

  • More versatility: A concrete wire saw can be used for a variety of applications, including cutting concrete slabs, pavers, bricks, and blocks; as well as removing mortar from between bricks.

  • Reduced noise: A concrete wire saw produces much less noise than a traditional power saw since the diamond-coated wire cuts through the material without producing any vibrations.

Slab/Flat Sawing

Concrete slab sawing—also known as flat sawing is the process that cuts the upper portion of existing concrete to an even, flat plane. This technique is used to level damaged pavement, provide control joints or lay underground wires and pipes. When it comes to slab on grade, structural decks, roadways and any other horizontal surface. Slab saws are powered by gas, diesel, electric and hydraulic.

Concrete slab sawing for various applications. These applications include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • High-rise office buildings

  • Rooftops

  • Soft cut

  • Green saw

  • Plumbing and electrical trenches

  • Roadways

Concrete slab sawing is the most identified diamond cutting method. Slab sawing features a diamond blade that is mounted on a walk behind machine requiring one operator.

Typical applications Include:

  • Cutting reinforced concrete floors

  • Cutting expansion and control joints

  • Trenching for electrical installation

  • Trenching for plumbing installation

  • Removing damaged pavement

  • Clean and repair cracks

  • Openings for staircases, elevators, and ductwork

  • Roof openings

  • Highway, road, and driveway cutting

Concrete, LLC can provide indoor projects where there is limited ventilation completely safe.

With our knowledge and experience using electric saws with decreased exhaust to maintain clean air circulation, we can complete highly-technical projects such as interior plumbing and electrical trench cutting while meeting all OSHA regulations.

Wall Sawing

Cutcrete's specialists can complete even the most challenging concrete wall sawing jobs. We can cut concrete at depths of two feet with our wall saw fleet and rely on this technique when other saws are too large for the job.

WHY PERFORM CONCRETE WALL SAWING?

Concrete wall cutting is common for cutting concrete on a vertical surface. Existing concrete walls are often cut to create doors and windows. Concrete is a thick, strong material used in construction, so it requires a unique process for cutting. The controlled concrete wall sawing process helps safely and effectively remove or modify concrete. It’s critical to hire professionals to saw concrete. Without the correct tools or experience, you can make dangerous and costly mistakes.

BENEFITS OF CONCRETE WALL SAWING

Concrete wall sawing offers many advantages for construction projects. Concrete wall sawing is the fastest and most efficient way to create necessary spaces in existing concrete walls. Concrete wall cutting benefits vary according to each project, but they typically provide:

  • A safe and effective way to cut heavily reinforced concrete

  • A way to cut areas with limited access

  • A reduction in downtime

  • A way to cut perfectly straight lines for precision

  • A reduction in noise and debris

  • A way to maintain structural integrity

CONCRETE WALL SAWING APPLICATIONS

 The most common ways use

 concrete wall sawing services include:

  • Window openings

  • Door openings

  • Vents

  • HVAC expansion

  • Removal of panels

  • Beam cutting

Core Drilling

Core drilling creates a cylinder-shaped hole in an area of concrete, removing a “core” up to any depth. This method is utilized by plumbing, electrical, and mechanical contractors who need to run pipe through a floor or wall. It can also be used in the transportation or architecture fields to create holes in existing structures such as manholes or concrete slabs for pressure testing. Cutcrete's specialist can create a core diameter as small as 1/2” and as large as 54.” Additionally, larger holes are possible with specialized equipment.

APPLICATIONS

  • Phone lines

  • HVAC ducting

  • Sprinkler systems

  • Railing posts

  • Manholes

  • Plumbing

  • Electrical

  • Concrete pressure testing

  • Soil testing

Cutcrete has a variety of core drills, including base mount and handheld models to meet any needs.

Hand Sawing

Some site conditions and/or job limitations require the use of a handsaw instead of a larger saw. Hand saws come in many different forms, each with its own unique application. Cutcrete has a variety of 14-16” hand saws in the shop, such as gas and electric double-cut saws, ring saws, and chain saws. These saws can cut depths of 5-10.5”.  Cutcrete's hand sawing specialist are trained on each to ensure the highest safety standards and help choose the right saw for the job.

APPLICATIONS

  • Small cuts

  • Shallow depths

  • Curb removal

  • Sidewalks

  • Narrow access

  • Corner cuts/clean up

  • Concrete chipping

TOOL SHOP

Cutcrete offers a variety of hand saws including:

  • Hydraulic chain saw

  • High cycle chain saw

  • High cycle ring saw

  • Gas powered chain saw

  • Gas powered ring saw

Green Sawing

Green Concrete Saw ensures straight cuts called expansion joints, up to 1-3/16 in. deep, perfect for concrete slab joints to prevent stress cracks and random cracking.

WHAT IS EXPANSION JOINT CUTTING?

After the concrete is poured and it begins to set it actually shrinks as it hardens, condensing into one solid mass. As the moisture leaves the concrete and it hardens, the concrete becomes prone to random cracking known as shrinkage cracks. Any number of things can affect shrinkage cracks such as hot weather, elasticity, tensile strength, and more.

Control cuts help to alleviate random cracking by creating weak points in concrete slabs, forcing cracks to form along the cuts rather than appearing in more obvious, unsightly places in the concrete slabs.

WHEN TO SAW CUT CONCRETE

Concrete's specialist understand when the best time to start saw cutting concrete slab is. Cutting too early can cause raveling, leaving a messy edge along any cut made. If you cut too late, you can actually create more random cracking than would have occurred had you not begun cutting expansion joints at all.
