Wall/ Wire Saw Operator

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Set up wire saw machines by installing and securing cutting wires, adjusting tension, and configuring machine settings.

• Knowledge of procedure of setting up of the Wire Saw for various tasks – horizontal, vertical or flush cutting; wire sawing pattern and sequence of operations.

• Calibrate machines to achieve accurate cuts based on project specifications.

• Knowledge of operation of different sub-assemblies such as drive wheel, hydraulic system, power unit, water supply system, wire tensioning arm, wire length adjustment pulley etc.

• Knowledge of method and significance of twisting the diamond wire before joining connectors

• Load and unload materials onto the wire saw machine.

• Secure materials in place to prevent movement during the cutting process.

• Operate wire saw machines to cut materials such as stone, metal, or concrete.

• Monitor the cutting process to ensure precision and adjust machine settings as needed.

• Carry out basic maintenance such as replacing rubber on the pulleys, cleaning the diamond wire guard and drive wheel guard, keeping grip points free from oil and grease

• Inspect finished products for quality and make any necessary adjustments.

• Caring for company equipment/machines by performing routine maintenance on wire saw machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components.

• Ensure all associated parts (couplings/rods etc.) are used to their maximum potential, while ensuring their sustainability to reduce downtime and wastage.

• Report any malfunctions or issues to maintenance staff for repair.

• Erect appropriate signages, barricades as required for the work area before positioning and mounting the Wire Saw

• Keeps job site clean of all unused/waste materials and ensures all equipment is stored in a safe and secure

• Ability to use or learn how to use different equipment/hand and power

• Ensure the practice of safety standards in accordance with company policies and OSHA.

• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

• Willingness to perform and learn different aspects of the wall/wire saw operator position.

• Perform all other tasks and follow instructions as directed by.

Workdays & Shifts:

​

• Normal working hours are from 7am – 4pm

• Must also be available to work varied shifts depending on job requirements such as and not limited to days, nights and weekends.

• Must be able and willing to work overtime when required.

• The ability to travel for extended periods of time.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

​

• Valid driver's license - Required.

• No misdemeanor or felony driving offenses within the last three years

​

Experience & Knowledge:

​

• 3 years Prior experience working as a Wall/Wire Saw Operator in the concrete industry

​

Other Requirements:

​

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older.

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screens & background checks, including MVR.
